The First of its Kind: Competitive Ladies Longboard Surfing Event
A celebration of female surfing and a love for the ocean in honour of women’s month
August is Women’s Month and in honour of this, the LaMuse Classic Longboard surfing event will take place in Muizenberg, on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 August 2018. The ladies-only contest aims to celebrate women in an environment they love and where they feel happy and empowered.
This two-day event is about more than just the competition. Organisers explain that it is a way to introduce competitive female surfing in a pleasurable and easygoing manner. The objective of the event is to gather women together, regardless of capabilities, to enjoy and celebrate their love for the ocean. LaMuse promotes the idea that surfing is not merely a competitive sport, but also a source of inspiration.
