The Cultivaria Festival Promises a fusion of pleasure, culture and adventure like never seen before in this country
The annual Cultivaria arts festival presented in association with Drakenstein Municipality will take place from 27 to 30 October in the historic Boland town of Paarl. Festival visitors can look forward to a completely new format as the festival arena will move to the awe-inspiring open air amphitheatre on top of the landmark Paarl Mountain.
The festival gets off to a glamorous start with the Bovril Black Tie dinner on Thursday, 27 October 2011. During the festival audiences can see some of the country’s top performers in action at various venues throughout Paarl.
The jam-packed programme promises a sensory feast with various musical genres, theatre productions, dance shows, comedy, classical music and art.
Festival guests can relax at the Heinz Emporium in between the various shows, and enjoy world-class wines and a wide variety of local delicacies from wineries such as Simonsvlei, Glen Carlou, Du Toitskloof, Freedom Hill and 10 Chapters.
The open-plan entertainment area also includes the Bokomo Kitchen, where visitors can sharpen their culinary skills. TV chef Sonia Cabano teams up with other cooking experts to present live food demonstrations ranging from breakfast menus to high tea and dinner dazzlers.
Children are catered for with a fun-filled programme of shows and activities at the Liqui-Fruit children’s theatre.
Don’t miss the main festival production Timeless Encore, with highlights of previous shows performed by the great cast. Arina de Witt, Rina Hugo, Andre Schwartz, Jannie Moolman and Kevin Leo will sing crowd-pleasing favourites.
