DECORATE COOKIES AND TASTE WINE AT SPIER

There’s something for everyone at Spier this Easter: Throughout the weekend, children can participate in a complimentary cookie-decorating session, while parents enjoy a world-class wine tasting. You could also opt for a 3-course, Sunday lunch at Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery, while the kids go on a scavenger hunt in search of a fun Easter prize. Discover more Easter hunts.

DO EASTER IN LUXURY IN THE CITY

Join Taj’s Lobby Lounge and bar this Easter Sunday for a delectable tea buffet. There’ll be sweet and savoury options like lamb pie, focaccias, Easter cupcakes and hot cross buns – it’s something everyone in the family will enjoy. Plus there’ll be live entertainment, as well as complimentary valet parking. Bookings are essential.

PARTY AT A MUSIC FEST BY THE LAKE

Calling all our camping and festival lovers: Spend Easter weekend dancing on the water at the Rumours by the Lake festival. This is its last gathering for the season, which is at the stunning Elgin Grabouw Country Club. Food trucks will be serving delicious dishes all weekend. Bring your own camping gear, or book a glamping experience.

LISTEN TO LIVE MUSIC + WINE AT FICKS

Ficks Restaurant will be hosting a fabulous event on Saturday, with music by DJ Dune. Pop by for some good tunes and vibes,  the stunning view and the restaurant’s excellent food. Ficks will also launch two new wines that will be for sale on the day. No bookings required – it works on a first come, first served basis

WATCH PETER RABBIT 2 UNDER THE STARS

End your Sunday with a special Easter screening of Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway – it’s a wonderful movie the whole family will enjoy. Galileo Cinemas will be screening this funny, entertaining cartoon at Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville, and you can also enjoy a picnic under the stars. Find out more about Galileo Cinemas.

POP BY A MARKET IN STELLENBOSCH

Spend Saturday or Sunday at the newly-renovated Root44 Market in Stellenbosch. This stylish indoor market is surrounded by gorgeous vineyards and trees. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SHARK-CAGE DIVING SPECIALS

EAT SUNDAY LUNCH IN CONSTANTIA

Celebrate with the whole family at The Cellars-Hohenort on Easter Sunday. Enjoy a delicious 3-course meal, while the kids go on a fun-filled Easter-egg hunt in the hotel’s magical garden and forest. Bookings are essential.

JOIN IN FOR A MILE SWIM OR RUN

Brave the waters and run the well-known Bastille Day route with an 17.5km Easter Festival Swim Run. Energy Events is hosting this festival at the Berg River Dam in Franschhoek. You can enter solo or in teams of 2. The route involves 4 runs (14km total) and 4 swims (3,5km total). This route is great for newbies and old-timers. Book your tickets ahead of time.

CHECK OUT THIS MARKET IN SOMERSET WEST

Soak up the sun and let the kids roam around the gorgeous lawns at Lourensford Wine Estate. Taste award-winning wines, indulge in decadent delights (from Italian to Thai), or browse through the vendors’ crafts and artisanal produce). There’ll also be live music, vintage cars, and archery and pellet-gun fun at the Clay Pigeon Adventures Hub.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF WITH THE TWO OCEANS MARATHON

The Two Oceans Marathon is widely known as the world’s most beautiful marathon, covering some of Cape Town’s most spectacular neighbourhoods. Register and be part of the running movement in Cape Town (choose between the 21km or 56km run).
