Rock Me Amadeus Fundraiser at the Barnyard Theatre
If you're looking for a musical Cape Town theatre event to attend this summer, consider this fundraiser performance at the Barnyard Theatre in Cape Town
After the tremendous success of Roll over Beethoven, The Barnyard Theatre presents Rock Me Amadeus, a Jason Coetzee Benefit Committee’s fundraiser event.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart comes back to life as a sexy and romantic composer who has finally been given the chance to rock and roll. The show has been a huge hit in South Africa and has been staged in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
From the opening chords of Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik till the closing bars of Bob Seger’s Old Time Rock And Roll, the show takes the audience on a journey through four decades of rock and soul, with a few classical hits to spice things up.
The result is a great variety and incredible fidelity to the originals as well as a consistently high standard of musicality, both instrumental and vocal.
From the moment the lights go down, Rock Me Amadeus delights its audience with a good variety of music of all styles including ballads, rock, soul, African, disco, rhythm and blues and even rap!
This is the show that everybody has been waiting for and once again audience participation is the rule and everybody is encouraged to join in. Value-for-money entertainment doesn’t come much better than at this Cape Town theatre event.
