KORA 2005 Festival & Music Awards in Durban
The KORA 2005 Festival & Music Awards will take Durban by a storm with Hugh Masekela, Mafikizolo, Malaika, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and more South African & African musical icons.
The KORA 2005 Festival & Music Awards, or the all Africa Music Awards, will be taking place in Durban on the 1, 2 and 4 December. Showcasing the live performances of 48 music artists, groups, African Icons and Afro-American artistes on four stages at the ABSA Rugby Stadium, including an opening ceremony on 1 December broadcasted live on about 80 TV Channels worldwide.
The Awards Ceremony will be held on the 4 December 2005 at the International Convention Centre.
Amongst the finalists quite a few South African artists: The father of the African jazz and one of South Africa's musical legends, Hugh Masekela, is the finalist for best male artist from Southern Africa. South African music sensation Mafikizolo is one of the KORA finalists for best band in Southern Africa.
Skwatta Kamp from South Africa is a KORA finalist for best Africasn Hip Hop, and world famous band Ladysmith Black Mambazo is one of the finalists for best traditional group.
