HHP and Friends at Kirstenbosch Encounters Concert
The Old Mutual Encounters Series is a celebration of the success of partnership, in this case between HHP, Stoan Seate, Jimmy Dludlu and Morafi
Hip Hop Pantsula:
Hip hop artist Hip Hop Pantsula, otherwise known as HHP, is one of South Africa’s biggest poets and rappers. His mantra: always stay fresh, current and creative. It is probably this that has been the reason behind him achieving the success that he has.
Stoan Seate:
Stoan Seate hails from the wonderful and sunny Mmabatho in the North West, where his musical talent started showing at a very tender age. It was in the mid-‘90s that Stoan caught the eye of one of the pioneers and fathers of Kwaito Music, Thebe, who immediately granted him the opportunity of joining his band as a back-up artist.
Jimmy Dludlu:
’Jazz maestro’, ‘guitar phenomenon’ or ‘guitar wizard of jazz’ are all synonyms for the self-taught musician Jimmy Dludlu. He was a mere 13 when he first picked up a cousin's home-made guitar and started teaching himself to play by imitating the jazz and African music he heard on the radio.
Morafi:
Morafe is the Hip-Hop group that fuses vernacular rap with a twist of soul and R&B. Morafe once again brings you their influential messages mixed with their party jumping songs their Setswana mixed with English.
