Valentine’s Day Dinner at Glen Carlou Winery
Toast your valentine at this picturesque Paarl wine farm with a decadent three-course dinner
Treat yourself and your special someone to a sumptuous dinner in the Cape Winelands and toast Valentine’s Day in Paarl with an all-round unforgettable experience at Glen Carlou. This world-class wine farm rests in the southern corner of the scenic Paarl Winelands a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town.
Flaunting spectacular vistas of the vineyard-dotted, mountain-lined valley below, the winery’s open-plan visitor centre and restaurant – a thatched space that’s contemporary and clean but also warm and welcoming – makes for a truly special spot to indulge in a relaxed romantic meal. And as the eatery is well known for cooking up top-notch, fresh, seasonal fare, couples can rest assured that the dining experience will be as delicious as it is dreamy.
The Glen Carlou kitchen team has specifically developed a first-class set menu to wine, dine and woo your valentine this year. And as award-winning reds and whites (Chardonnay especially) are, of course, the venue’s key speciality, diners would do well to pair the dishes with a glass or two from Glen Carlou’s wide selection or with a bottle from one of their three acclaimed international sister estates (do note though, drinks are at an added cost).
Complemented by sweet live music, the fine food and flavourful wine will surely combine to ensure a memorable Valentine’s Day evening.
The amorous meal can be taken either inside the inviting visitor centre-cum-eatery, which is also home to the renowned Hess Museum of Contemporary Art, or outside on the winery’s intimate marble terrace, from where sweethearts can almost certainly enjoy a spectacular summer sunset.
