Tape at the Nassau Theatre
Don’t miss this play about old friends and shocking confessions
Instead of resigning yourself to another night in with reruns, why not ingest some live entertainment at the Nassau Theatre in Newlands with the cast of the revealing drama “Tape”, on stage from Tuesday, 28 May to Saturday, 8 June 2013.
Written in 1999 by American playwright Stephen Belber and made into a movie starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, the play takes place in a single motel room in Lansing, Michigan, where old high school friends Vince and Jon are reunited and reminiscing. Enter Amy, the old flame, and the situation turns ugly thanks to a case of beer, an accusing provocation and a shocking confession.
This production of “Tape” is directed by Gabriella Pinto; stars talented local actors Scott Cooper (as Vince), Bjorn Steinbach (as Jon) and Shannyn Fourie (as Amy); and features music from famed Cape Town indie rockers The Plastics. The Nassau Theatre in Newlands offers a cash bar and warm, comfortable seating: both crucial ingredients for a perfect night out.
