Spier Presents Macbeth: The Opera
"Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble..."
For an unforgettable theatrical experience, make your way to Spier for the Spier Arts Summer Season and be charmed by an African take on one of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies - Macbeth.
Director Brett Bailey restages Macbeth as a one act opera, setting his protagonists in modern day Africa. The narrative follows a general and his ambitious wife as they murder their King and unleash atrocities on the crumbling state they inherit.
