Magrudergrind in Concert
The ultimate legends of grindcore will rock SA for the first time ever
Magrudergrind, if you’re a fan of the grindcore genre, will need no introduction. They are making the long trip all the way from the US to tour South Africa for the first time ever. The group will be rocking your socks off on Friday, 10 June 2016 at Club Med in the CBD. They will also be playing the following night (Saturday, 11 June 2016) at ROAR in Cape Town.
The Brooklyn New York-based group recently dropped their second full-length album ‘II’, and performing those tunes is the name of the game. There will be merchandise available, and remember that bands like this don't make the trip often, so be sure to grab this golden opportunity to see the masters of grindcore live in concert.
Their supporting acts are proudly local lads, with one of them making their debut appearance at this show! Overhex will open up the gig at 9.30pm, and this marks their first ever performance, so experience new talent and become a fan of this up-and-coming band.
Next onto the stage is well-known and well-loved band Wildernessking, hailing from right here in our lovely city. They’ll be heading to the stage at 10:15pm. Their Facebook bio declares them as “four friends from the suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa making music together”. The group will be playing their 2016 album ‘Mystical Future’, and they are sure not to disappoint.
The final opening act is Peasant, who takes to the stage at 11pm. With their new vocalist Alain Marthezé and new bass guitarist Keagan van Rooyen, their set is going to be a cracker. As promised, they will be releasing new music after the gig, so be one of the first to hear their new sounds and try to savour the moment!
The band you've been waiting for will start rocking at 11:45pm, so try to reserve some energy for these legends.
