Sunday afternoon 27 November sees the first of nine summer live concerts on the rolling lawns of De Waal Park in Cape Town. And who better than to kick it off than Hot Water? The five piece multi-cultural afro – jive band can put a groove in just about anyone’s step. It’s the perfect way to end off the weekend, and what’s more you can have some excellent Sunday night entertainment for free.
Cape Town's most esteemed artists and headliners will be bringing De Waal Park’s Edwardian bandstand to life every other Sunday, on the spectacular backdrop of Table Mountain - one of the newly announced New7Wonders of Nature! From Afro-Jive to Afrikaans, Classical to Crossover Pop, Jazz to Ska and Flamenco to Afro-soul, the Summer Concerts in the Park will be free to the public, who is invited to bring their own picnic and enjoy the amenities of the sublime Cape Town public park which is steeped in tradition.
All the Summer Concerts at the De Waal Park this summer will commence at 15:00, and entrance is free. Patrons are invited to bring their own picnic, and are encouraged to arrive from 14:00. De Waal Park is located on Molteno Street, with entrances on Upper Orange, Camp and Molteno Street.
