Jonkershoek Panorama Hikers Network Hiking Club
Beautiful views and waterfalls await you during this mountainous trek
Pretty and tough, the Jonkershoek Panorama Hike is no picnic, but it certainly does proffer some exquisite panoramic vistas of the area. On Saturday, 23 July 2016, the Hikers Network Hiking Club will be traversing the popular 17-km route, so if you’re feisty, fit and rearing to climb a mountain, this is one great trek you don’t want to miss out on.
The 17-km circuit takes approximately eight hours to hike and includes a steep contour path below the Banhoek Peaks. Meander around the mountain to the Bergriviernek, where you can have a quick swim, and then wind your way across the Dwarsberg Plateau, where delicate disas line tinkling streams. Take the path from Kurktrekker past the cascading Tweede and Eerste waterfalls, and then find your way back to the start.
You’ll need your full hiking kit, plenty of water and a lot of gees – this isn’t an easy route!
