FireUnite Music Concert in Hout Bay
This Hout Bay Music Series inaugural concert promises fun and festivities in support of our firefighters.
EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SUPPORT
---
Fancy watching Just Jinjer and other awesome South African acts while picnicking on the gorgeous grounds of Glenellen and supporting three NGOs involved in fighting the recent fires? Yes? Then you need to make it happen! The Hout Bay Music Series is planning to host the event on Saturday, 11 April 2015, but the concert will only go ahead if a minimum of 900 pledges are made through crowdfunding event platform City Soiree.
Born from the community’s desire to give back while supporting local South African talent, this summer-inspired shindig will have a festive picnic-like ambiance and is an ideal occasion for a date night or family fun. Not to mention, the NGOs that will benefit from the event are well-deserving of support having battled inexhaustibly to extinguish the devastating fires earlier in March. Show your appreciation for their efforts while also witnessing some of your favourite live acts light up the stage!
NGOS BENEFITTING FROM THE FIREUNITE HOUT BAY MUSIC SERIES CONCERT
Fifty rand per ticket sale goes directly to the NGOs with the aim of raising R100 000 for these rewarding causes. At least 900 ticket sales need to happen to ensure that a set amount is raised and hard costs are covered.
The three beneficiaries are:
- The Cape of Good Hope SPCA Wildlife Unit: Dedicated to caring for wildlife injured by the fire
- The Wildfire Volunteer Services: The tireless men and women who volunteer to heroically protect us from the flames
- Thrive Hout Bay: An NGO committed to the restoration of natural vegetation
