STOMP – a photographic exhibition by Joe Botha & Stu Shapiro
A voyeuristic exploration of South Africa’s summer festival scene
Cape Town photographers Joe Botha and Stu Shapiro present an exhibition chronicling the (endless) summer season of outdoor music events around Cape Town.
The exhibition provides a raw, insightful eye into one of the world’s biggest outdoor festival societies; an honest and almost voyeuristic documentation of revelry under the South African skies.
The exhibition explores the camaraderie borne out of the social spaces provided by Cape Town’s electronic music subcultures.
Expect lively and colourful images drenched in festivity and freedom of expression; of ordinary people having extraordinary times.
Stu has recently returned from the 3D animation industry in the UK and his photography has feathered prolifically in various print magazines and various online platforms.
Joe is a serial entrepreneur based in Cape Town, having co-founded three technology businesses, and a pathological photographer outside of office hours.
The STOMP Photorgraphic exhibition runs from the 15 July to the 1st September 2011 from Wednesdays to Saturdays.
Gallery Times:
Wednesday – Friday: 10:00 – 16:00
Saturdays: 10:00 – 13:00
