Cape Town's Ultra Tougher PUFFER
Gruelling running event runs from V&A Waterfront over Table Mountain to Cape Point - And Back!
Taking place on the 22 August 2008 is the Ultra Tougher Puffer race, which will be leading up to the Tougher Puffer happening on the following day.
It starts the day before the ‘normal’ PUFFER, on the Friday at 10AM but has the same cut-off time on Saturday evening.
If you consider yourself fit, and are looking for the best running events in South Africa, consider the Ultra Tougher PUFFER; This extreme running event, ladies and gentlemen, is not for the faint hearted.
The Ultra Tougher PUFFER was first run in Cape Town in 2001 when there were no other 100 mile trail runs in South Africa—and a group of friends needed such a race to qualify for the Western States 100 in California.
Some runners today just do it as something different, especially if they’ve done numerous PUFFER’s.
Runners can enjoy the chance to be in Table Mountain National Park during the night—dark, still, quiet, alone with your thoughts under the stars.
Most “runners” of this race largely walk the return leg.
