Cape Flats Film Festival
Changing the negative perception of the Cape Flats is the focus of this community event
The second Cape Flats Film Festival (CFFF) will be taking place from Monday, 15 to Saturday, 27 August 2016. The idea is to change the negative perception of the Cape Flats by showing positive documentaries and films that have been created by locals.
The film festival falls under the initiative started by Emile Lester Jansen (from Black Noise) called Cape Flats Uprising. All of the events founded by this initiative aim to convey the good that can come from the Cape Flats to the audience, with the hope of influencing the thinking and actions of young people living in the region.
The Cape Flats Best Music Video Awards will be collecting and screening the very best music videos that come from the community. A vote will decide who wins the award. You can submit your music video by emailing it to emileyx@gmail.com by Monday, 15 August 2016.
