The Fine Brandy Festival takes place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November at the Roundhouse in Camps Bay. The festival is intended as a sophisticated but chilled encounter with South Africa’s world class brandy, while listening to exciting local musical talent playing live.
If you’re looking for an easy Saturday or Sunday afternoon or more interested to enjoy the festival having sundowners – its all possible. The festival runs from noon to 20h00 in the evening
The Brandy
South Africa is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading Brandy producers – proof that practice makes perfect. Expect specialty potstills from Van Ryn’s Collection Reserve, which brought home the title of International Wine & Spirit Competition Worldwide Best Brandy for the fourth time this year; Oude Meester, top performer at the 2011 New York International Spirits Competition; Klipdrift Gold, a regular international and local gold medalist; Flight of the Fish Eagle and Collison’s White.
The Music
Hot Water, currently one of South Africa’s most talked-about bands, who raised the temperature at this year’s Oppikopi Festival will be part of Saturday’s line-up. Hear them, along with great Afro-jazz favourite, Coda and the very gorgeous saxophonist, Judy Brown. On Sunday, expect to see Judy Brown and Coda once again, as well as Farryl Purkiss (of Fruitbat and Crows fame) and Cape Town group, Yemanya, a classical glam group with a unique Afro/Spanish/Latin sound.
Don’t Forget about Van Coke Cartel, Jack Parow and JR at Kirstenbosch Gardens and the annual Toy Run.
