Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards
The massive foodie awards are back this year with a slight twist
If you’re a South African food-lover, there’s only thing that you anticipate more than your next moreish meal, and that’s the annual Eat Out Awards. The lauded gastronomic affair celebrates the best of the best in the local restaurant industry.
This year, the glitzy, glamorous shindig takes on a slight twist in the form of a Sunday lunch at the Mistico Equestrian Centre on Sunday, 15 November 2015.
Another first is the renaming of the ‘Best of’ category to the ‘Best Everyday Eateries’ and the announcements of these awards were made in October.
The ceremony will be held to acknowledge the 10 top restaurants in South Africa, the chef of the year, service excellence and more of our local culinary success stories. Lunch will be prepared by a talented team of top chefs, with Scot Kirton of La Colombe creating the first course, Nic van Wyk of Bistro 13 making the second course, and Michael Broughton of Terroir constructing the third course. Dessert will be conceptualised by George Jardine of Jordan Restaurant and Jason Lilley from Jason Bakery will be baking his delicious bread.
