Brace yourself for another summer sunset picnic concert series that you simply don’t want to miss
If there is one thing we just can’t get enough of it is picnic concerts. How fortunate then that the beautiful Backsberg wine estate is hosting a series of these sensational soirees, starting mid-February!
On the five Sundays between 14 February and 13 March 2016 you will get to enjoy the music of some of the finest South African artists, surrounded by stunning vineyards and the majestic Simonsberg in the distance.
Look forward to performances by The Plastics, Gerald Clark and The Dead
Men, and the Blues Broers, among other greats. All these musos have one thing in common, the ability to create unique music, guaranteed to make your night unforgettable.
The first in the series of events takes place on Sunday, 14 February 2016. Yes, Valentine’s Day! So if you don’t know where to take your sweetheart, this is the perfect opportunity for something super romantic. Imagine a comfy blanket, sipping wine and indulging in mouth-watering treats and watching the sun set as you’re carried away by magical melodies. While picnic baskets are welcome, a delectable variety of eats will be on sale at the venue. Please note that no alcohol is allowed onto the premises.
But it really doesn’t matter which date you’re going, or if it’s going to be with your loved one, your family or your best buds – your evening will be memorable for sure!

14 Feb – The Plastics
21 Feb – Gerald Clark and The Dead Men
28 Feb – The Blues Broers
6 March – Ryno Velvet Band
13 March – Valiant Swart Band
Gates to the venue open at 3pm, the opening act starts playing at 4pm and the main act sounds off at 5pm. Take along blankets and chairs to sit on.

As always, it is best to get your tickets early as they will be more expensive if you buy them at the gate. Adults pay R120p/p, R60p/p for students with a valid student card and free for children under the age of 12. Tickets at the gate are R150p/p.
