The Salt River Food and Lifestyle Carnival
There is little more magical than a carnival
Carnivals provide fun for the entire family, so why not take a trip to Salt River and enjoy the festivities? The Salt River Food and Lifestyle Carnival will be at Shelley Street Sports Field to bring a smile to your face from Friday, 27 May to Sunday, 29 May 2016.
Jam-packed with carnival rides and various stalls, this fun-filled fair will feature an array of goods from local vendors. There will be scrumptious food, healthy smoothies, ladies fine ware, and beautifully crafted gifts
Visitors can expect tons of exciting activities and entertainment for the whole family, so treat them to a trip to the carnival!
This fête is an event “for the community, by the community, to better the community”. The residents of Salt River aim to raise awareness about the change in the property market affecting Salt River and other urban neighbourhoods. Through this event they hope to uplift their community, make a difference and create opportunities for their suburb and its future generations. The organisers have created a hashtag (#ActivistAgainstGentrification) to expose as many people to this issue as possible.
