Stellenbosch Craft Beer Octoberfest
Have a happy hoppy day of beer and fun in the sun at this fest of fermentation
The famous Winelands wonderland is ditching its fine vintages for a day to bring some superb craft beers your way. Octoberfest is heading to the Jan Marais Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 17 October 2015. Make sure you head to the fest for a hopping good time as there will be 20 hand-selected microbreweries on site with plenty of their finest barley brews for you to peruse.
Set in a spectacular reserve known for its 200 year-old trees, this family-friendly affair promises much in the way of entertainment. The highlight will, of course, be the beer, but there will also be other amusements on hand, in the form of live music and big screen rugby. Musicians on the day include the Aidan Martin Band, Basson Laubscher & the Violent Free Peace, The Young Folks, The Jumping Guns and Kim Atkin Music, while the Rugby World Cup 2015 action will be streamed on a massive LED screen.
Hungry hop enthusiasts can tuck into an array of tasty cuisine options fresh from the various food stalls at the venue, including pulled pork sandwiches from The Trumpet Tree, Asian street food from the Lotus Food Truck, German sausages from Top Your Hot Dog and Polynesian street food from Wahine Food Truck.
Little ones will also have plenty of non-alcoholic activities to be excited about, including jungle gyms, swings and a jumping castle.
