Carly Rae Jepsen Concert Tour in Cape Town
The bubbly Canadian singer brings her brand of catchy pop tunes to the Mother City this summer
“But here's my number, so call me maybe?rdquo; If you recognise these insanely memorable lyrics then you’ll be excited to know that their originator is heading your way! Get ready to have a night out filled with upbeat dance pop tunes. Canada has been the birthplace of pop culture icons like singer Justin Bieber, rapper Drake and now singer Carly Rae Jepsen. The talented musician will be touring to Cape Town and will touch down at the GrandWest Arena on Wednesday, 21 October 2015.
Jepsen burst onto the scene with the earworm ‘Call Me Maybe’, which became one of the sleeper hits of 2012. More than just a one-hit wonder, she released her second full-length album, Curiosity in 2013 and is currently on tour promoting her 2015 album Emotion. Herlatest release has garnered the hit tune, ‘I Really Like You’ and falls in with the sweet and undeniably catchy songs that the artsist has become synonymous with.
Her breakout single “Call Me Maybe” jumped up to the number one spot on the iTunes charts in around 47 countries and sold about 17 million singles to date.
Not just a pretty face, the pint-sized singer has won the hearts of many fans (and awards) from around the globe. Jepsen has taken home three Juno Awards, a Billboard Music Award and two Grammy Award nominations for her work. She’s set to bring her stellar vocals and dance-pop extravaganza to our shores so be sure to get your tickets before they sell out.
And if dance-pop isn’t your thing, get a taste of the Swedish outfit, Little Dragon who are coming to Cape Town this summer too.
