There’s nothing like sharing a memorable experience to bring people together. Take your team to Zip Zap’s latest variety show, VOOMA! and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of the Zip Zap Dome. VOOMA! combines acrobatics, juggling, mind-blowing stunts, outrageous comedy and dazzling sing-along performances. Plus, there are food stalls selling everything from chips and chocolates to boerie rolls and wine, beer, tea and coffee.
What you get out of it: Watching a circus show is an experience that leaves a lasting impression, and it’s a childhood memory that many people share. You can take a piece of Zip Zap home with you by supporting their merchandise stall.
Note: There is ample, secure parking outside the Zip Zap Dome, so no need to use the Artscape Theatre parking areas.

HintHunt, who made escape rooms viral in South Africa, have two new escape games, Escape Plan and Torpedo, in which you and your colleagues are locked away in a themed room and challenged to solve riddles and puzzles in 60 minutes or less. You can do it during your lunch break (even midweek) or after work till late on Fridays. There are three more escape games to choose from at HintHunt.
What you get out of it: Team bonding and the satisfaction of beating your opponents and a team photo at the end. See CapeTownMagazine.com team after a game.
Note: If you have a big team or remote teams, consider playing the outdoor and online game: Amazing Race, played around the V&A Waterfront, or the online and mobile escape games.

What better way to celebrate your team than with a bottle of personalised gin. At Distiller’s Union, you can make your own gin, while enjoying snacks and drinks. Handpick your own ingredients – the spices, citruses, herbal notes and floral fragrances – and each member can design their own label. Plus, pop down to Sweet River Brewery for a beer tasting and pizza (for those team members who aren’t a huge gin fan).
What you get out of it: You make your own gin and take a 500ml bottle of it home with you.
Note: If you'd like to taste exceptional gins produced by master distillers, the distillery is home to brands such as 5 Pence, Ora, Enigma and Dragon Brewing Co., all of which are available for tastings.

Corporate cocktails, Friday drinks for the office, even hump-day Wine Wednesday (yes, it’s a thing) don’t have to be a schlep to organise. Because Bar Keeper, Cape Town’s seamless service liquor store, delivers ice cold in an hour (that’s if you’re within a 6km radius). It is open for trade every day of the week, 364 days a year (it’s closed on Christmas Day). And because it has a van for deliveries, not only a scooter, you can get anything from a few bottles of wine to many cases of booze.
What you get out of it: You can order 1 bottle or a few cases for an office-party or after-work drinks
Note: Bar Keeper also offers a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.

Nothing like competition to get colleagues vibing. Consider Scootours, then, where you freewheel down a purpose-built track on Swiss-designed Monster Mountain Scooters at Middelvlei Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. It’s a 45-minute, action-packed Flow Trail, 850 metres long and is a complete adrenaline rush complete with berms, rollers and a bush tunnel. There’s also a 1.5 hour Scootours mid-week special. Both options include a guide, equipment and a complimentary glass of wine. Plus, you can work from the farm, eat a lekker boerebraai lunch, and add an archery session to your teambuilding session.
What do you get out of it: Shared experiences strengthen relationships between team members, and if you’re not a talker – well, keep riding.
Note: Scootours’ also does team-building experiences on Table Mountain or in Franschhoek

If there’s a man that can get your teammates expressing themselves loudly and having fun while they do it, it will be Dirty Skirts lead singer Jeremy de Tolly. The singer has travelled down the path of self-healing and sees the voice as a central part of this process. Working with him will show you how to “express yourself with ease, confidence and freedom” – can you imagine the benefits of that in a team, giving presentations or even socially? You might discover you – or a teammate – have a singing voice to die for.
What you get out of it: A fun and dynamic experience that will leave each team member more confident in expressing themselves. You’re also sure to feel more confident speaking in public.
Note: This experience is shared, but if you want more access to freeing your voice, there are private sessions available, too.
