Soak up some of the atmosphere on the street below from the balcony, while sipping cold beers (their cocktail list is pretty impressive too) and chowing down on their legendary pizza. Built on rock n roll, expect that balcony to turn into a dance floor as the night goes on.

The Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore is a no-brainer when it comes to choosing office party venues. It’s centrally located, just minutes from the Cape Town International Convention Centre and a short walk from most of the CBD’s major office buildings. They also have a great restaurant and their rooftop bar (with space for dancing and a DJ set-up) boasts killer views of the city and Table Mountain. Plus of course, they’re a hotel, so if your boss is feeling generous, you could enquire about overnight accommodation. There are always interesting international hotel guests to meet over cocktails, too.

Who would not feel spoiled with chilled wine and tasty flatbreads (or sushi, if you prefer), a pretty sea view and a breeze to cool things down? End-of-year celebrations usually happen in summer, and Sotano is a good place to be then. The wine list is excellent, and there’s a really wide selection of summery foods, from the traditional Greek salad (no lettuce), through to the Spanish paella. See if you can snag the outside area, which is closest to the Mouille Point promenade and has good views of the lighthouse and sea.

How to book: Call 021 433 1757
Cost: There’ll be no cost for venue hire, but a per head costing will be worked out with you
