Ready. Set. Race. This outdoor adventure is an exhilarating downhill descent on non-electric Monster Mountain Scooters. You can freewheel through a bush tunnel, glide through vineyards or take two off-road tracks in the city. Here are all the exciting tracks you can experience.

TRY VINE BIKE TOURS & ARCHERY IN BANHOEK

Scootours’s newest location in the Stellenbosch countryside has Monster Mountain Scooters, purpose-built tracks, archery, vine bike tours and mountain biking trails. You get to cascade through vineyards and over small wooden bridges, all while admiring views of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains and Simonsberg Mountain. Plus, Scootours Banhoek takes walk-ins.

RACE THROUGH A BUSH TUNNEL IN STELLENBOSCH 

Scootours’s second Stellenbosch location, Middelvlei Wine Farm, is 850m of pure dirt-road complete with meandering berms, a bush tunnel and bumpy rollers. Don’t worry, you’re allowed a few practice runs to help you get the hang of it. The experience is around one hour.

You can extend your visit and book an archery session or a braai lunch with all the trimmings, like chops, boerewors, braaibroodjies, Ouma Annie's pumpkin fritters and other South African favourites. Plus, you can host your kids’ birthday party at Scootours Middelvlei.

THE BEAUTY OF THE FRANSCHHOEK VALLEY 

The Scootours Franschhoek route is easy to navigate, even for kids. During the tour you’ll freewheel through vineyards and down the gentle slopes of Chamonix Wine Farm, with views of the surrounding mountains and wine farms.

TWO OFF-ROAD TRACKS IN THE CITY 

It’s between an hour-and-a-half to two-hour tour, during which you glide down two different off-road tracks. The first one is a 5km Jeep track that runs down the side of Signal Hill and takes you all the way to the colourful Bo-Kaap. And on the way you’ll have gorgeous views of Table Mountain, the city centre, Cape Town harbour and mosques in the Bo-Kaap.

Then you’ll move onto the second track, which starts on the lower slopes of Table Mountain at Dead Man’s Tree. Speed down the mountain, through Deer Park, and into Oranjezicht. You’ll see views of Lion’s Head, Signal Hill and Cape Town Stadium.

BOOK A SCOOTOURS EXPERIENCE 

All riders must be at least 1.1 metres tall and weigh less than 120kg. Wear comfortable clothes, closed shoes and take a warm jacket. You don’t have to be fit and no experience is required, you just need to be able to ride and balance a bicycle. (your guide will show you everything you need to know).
