Run With Purpose, For A Purpose, Run For The Rhinos

A fundraiser with a physical side, trail running through beautiful Constantia

Grab your running (or walking) shoes and help the effort to save the rhinos by enjoying a beautiful run along the Constantia trails. There are two distances to choose from – 5km and 10km – so even the less fit are welcome to partake. The Rhino Run takes place in six locations over South Africa on 16 September. In Cape Town, it will be hosted at the Groot Constantia Wine Estate.

You can enter online, but also at the venue on the day: The race sign in opens at 6am and the pre-race briefing begins at 6:20am, so be sure to be there in time. The 10km race starts at 6:30am and the 5km at 6:45am. Entries cost R150 for the 5km race and R200 for the 10km, a portion of which is donated to various organisations involved in the fight against poaching.

Enter online and you will automatically be included in the lucky draw for two tickets for an all-inclusive two night stay at the Ukhozi Lodge in the Kariega game reserve.

Initiated in 2012, the Rhino Run is organised annually and has to date managed to raise over R700 000 for the organisation’s beneficiaries such as The Kariega Game Reserve and OSCAP.

The founders of this run are passionate about rhinos and their conservation and are dedicated to fighting poaching. But they need your help to protect and care for the rhinos and all animals, and there’s no reason why you can’t have fun and get some exercise while you’re doing it.
