Trendy new restaurant for Misfits

Pizza and sushi, a wine cellar, indoor golf + good vibes

Trendy design meets the chilled atmosphere Cape Town is famous for at Misfits by Ideas Cartel, a new and unique restaurant and work space. It’s a quirky and distinct space, from the trinkets, personal to the owners, placed around the restaurant, to its branding – the word Misfits is written over the old Beluga plaque, in permanent marker. 

The menu offers breakfast, cocktails, sushi and pizza, has indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an indoor golf area and wine cellar. Misfits is a new hip spot for your next outing or work trip in the CBD.

LOUNGE ON A VELVET COUCH OR SIT IN THE COURTYARD

With indoor and outdoor seating options, Misfits suits all seasons. Indoors there are patterned mats and cow-hide rugs on the floors, warm earthy tones throughout the space, deep-blue velvet and brown leather chairs with hints of gold on the legs of the tables and chairs. Come along for relaxed dining or take advantage of the co-working desks designed for virtual workers.

The outdoor area feels like a courtyard in a charming European city, dotted with tables covered in white table cloths. Inside, there’s a large, curved communal table under a row of hanging woven light shades. There are also seats at the bar with tall, comfortable tub-style chairs, small intimate tables or opt for one of the booths, where you can lounge on a leather couch and listen to the live music, with a cocktail in hand.

ORDER SUSHI, PIZZA (OR BOTH)

Misfits is welcoming whether you pop in for a quick coffee, or stay for a meal. The menu offers breakfast, sushi, pizza and cocktails, as well as a small range of desserts. 

There are various sushi options, from hand rolls and maki to crispy deep-fried sushi and nigiri. You can opt for 1 to 8 pieces, or have a larger sushi platter to share.

The thin-base pizza options include the Pizza Pollo, which is topped with chicken, basil pesto, feta, roast tomatoes, and balsamic reduction.

DON'T MISS OUT ON THE DESSERTS

The cake slices are generous and luscious, like the moist vanilla cake topped with white and dark chocolate slivers and fresh strawberries, and a decadent baked cheesecake with fresh berries. Or revisit that childhood favourite, the ice-cream sandwich, made with artisanal ice cream, and topped with salted caramel sauce. 

TEST WHOSE SKILLS ARE BY PAR THE BEST

Seasoned golfer or amateur, the Misfits indoor-golf simulator is great fun. You can get a lesson from an expert, or ramp up the competitive spirit with friends and play for the bill. But if you just want to chill, the simulator offers a fun experience
