Weekend Picks: Giant Bugs, Two Super-Cool Parties, Art Exhibitions, and Places to Watch the Rugby World Cup

Plus a city-wide festival celebrating Cape Town’s African diversity

Cape Town’s diary is chock full of fabulous events this weekend. There are two ways to dance the night away – like you’ve been teleported into the 80s, or to sexy Latin beats. Or explore various African cultures at a festival celebrating the city’s cultural diversity through food, music and performances including the spoken word. There’s also a live creature feature with a giant spider on a farm in Stellenbosch, and an exhibition worth making time for.

On the soccer front, Cape Town City are back in Cape Town and out to get an elusive home win. Leave some energy for next weekend, though: there’s a wedding expo, car-drifting competition and an art exhibition showing how different generations perceive the land they live in.
