What better way to end off 2022 than with a memorable year-end team party. With some one-of-a-kind venues, adventurous fun to bring out your inner child and office-function ideas, this year end function will be one for the books.

Another bonus is that all the halaal meat meals have vegetarian alternatives at Gold Restaurant

TREAT THE TEAM TO OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAM

You’ve got to take your team to Rick’s at least once in their lifetime. This Casablanca-themed café is a full 3-storey experience. The bottom floor bar is full of quirky trinkets mimicking the Casablanca film and has over 100 tequila options, while the 1st floor lounge is perfect for a laid-back night cap. The winner is the epic rooftop bar overlooking Table Mountain, perfect for a  chilled dinner and sundowners. Rick's can take over 30 guests and is open for events everyday of the week.

Good to know: You can keep the party going till after midnight with the Twilight Happy Hours which happens daily from 10pm to 12am.

WoW parties work for any size group, from 2 to 100 – they can come to your venue or help you hire a location, call them to organise.

How to book: Via WoW
Cost: From R290 pp

BEER, PIZZA + ROCK N ROLL ON A BALCONY

If chilled year-end vibes are what your team is looking for this party season, look no further than Sgt Pepper on Long Street. This much-loved local bar and restaurant has continues to give life to Long Street. Soak up some of the atmosphere on the street below from the balcony, while sipping cold beers (their cocktail list is pretty impressive too) and chowing down on their legendary pizza. Built on rock n roll, expect that balcony to turn into a dance floor as the night goes on.

How to book: Call 021 424 5608 or email info@sgtpepperct.com
Cost: Varies

PARTY WITH YOUR TEAM (+ TOURISTS) ON A ROOFTOP

The Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore is a no-brainer when it comes to choosing office party venues. It’s centrally located, just minutes from the Cape Town International Convention Centre and a short walk from most of the CBD’s major office buildings. They also have a great restaurant and their rooftop bar (with space for dancing and a DJ set-up) boasts killer views of the city and Table Mountain. Plus of course, they’re a hotel, so if your boss is feeling generous, you could enquire about overnight accommodation. There are always interesting international hotel guests to meet over cocktails, too.

A PRIVATE TEAM MOVIE UNDER THE STARS

Bring Cape Town’s beloved outdoor movie experience, The Galileo Open Air Cinema, to an outdoor venue of your choice for a private viewing with your colleagues. The Galileo team can do a site visit to make sure your venue is 100% okay for the cinema set-up, and will supply everything you need for a memorable year-end experience with your team. Alternatively, book for your group at one of The Galileo’s magical regular cinema venues.

How to book: For regular viewings, book online; for queries about private rental, make an online enquiry.
Cost: From R129 per person for regular viewings; from R34 000 for private rental.

The Drumstruck show at Silvermist Wine Estate in Constantia is a scaled-down version of the international production, which has been described as “STOMP meets The Lion King,” but it will be no less spellbinding. Whether you are a music lover, a culture seeker or simply love a good party, it’s a special spoil to close off the year

KEEP THE OFFICE PARTY RELAXED

Who would not feel spoiled with chilled wine and tasty flatbreads (or sushi, if you prefer), a pretty sea view and a breeze to cool things down? End-of-year celebrations usually happen in summer, and Sotano is a good place to be then. The wine list is excellent, and there’s a really wide selection of summery foods, from the traditional Greek salad (no lettuce), through to the Spanish paella. See if you can snag the outside area, which is closest to the Mouille Point promenade and has good views of the lighthouse and sea.

How to book: Call 021 433 1757
Cost: There’ll be no cost for venue hire, but a per head costing will be worked out with you
