Enjoy a day of fresh air with vineyard walks or trips to farms this weekend

LET YOUR IMAGINATION RUN WILD AT LITTLE STREAM FARMHOUSE DELI
Bring the kids and have a wander around the green wonderland that is Little Stream Farmhouse Deli. You would never guess from the outside but inside Little Stream is a green treasure trove of never-ending picnic spots, beautifully landscaped gardens, an idyllic swing set and a charming tea garden menu. For a real adventure, let the little ones venture further on, past the overgrown brush of trees and vegetation, to find a giant bamboo fort and a few hidden sculptures in and around the gardens of Little Stream Farmhouse Deli.

TAKE A DAY TRIP TO REDBERRY FARM
Strawberry picking, mini train rides, pony rides and trail runs are just some of the fun things you can do at Redberry Farm in George. But their real showstopper is their hedge maze which is the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere. While the kids dare to escape the giant maze, parents can kick up their feet and enjoy a strawberry-inspired lunch. The Red Shed restaurant serves up a delicious scone tea and more at Redberry Farm.

HAVE A PICNIC OUT IN THE CAPE POINT VINEYARDS
For a weekend adventure that's not too far away, grab the family and head out to Noordhoek for an idyllic vineyard walk. The Cape Point Vineyards walk is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday, plus you can bring a picnic blanket and stock up on snacks from the wine shop inside. Take the chance to soak up a 360-degree view of the mountains, the fynbos, the grapes and the Atlantic ocean all in one vineyard walk.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN AFRICAN CULTURE
Buff up on African history, from oral storytelling and protest music through to an evocative story about a family who was evicted from their home during apartheid. This Bo-Kaap family's experience is told through a photographic exhibition in the building that used to be their home. Go further back and learn about artefacts and fossils. All of these exhibitions are on at one of the collections of Iziko Museums. There are strict Covid-19 policies to ensure your safety when you visit the Iziko Museums.

HIKE TO A SECRET WATERFALL
Take a dip in the refreshing icy rockpool surrounded by luscious moss after an adventurous hike. The waterfall is about forty metres of sheer drop and is a spectacular sight to behold. The hike starts off relatively easy; however, soon, you will need to stretch to get up, over and around the gorge's rock formations. Don’t forget your hiking shoes, a bottle of water and sunscreen to hike along with Trail Fit SA.

CALLING ALL LOCAL AESTHETES TO RIEBEEK KASTEEL
Galleries are still allowed to operate, and this one is a must-see. Visit one of South Africa's oldest towns, Riebeek Kasteel and experience its art, culture, and good food. Serious collectors and spirited enthusiasts will love the variety of exhibitions on show. The current summer exhibition called No Holds Barred features intricate ceramic sculptures from various artists, and you can view the catalogue online. FIND OUT WHAT THE RUPERT MUSEUM HAS TO OFFER
Until 28 February 2021, browse legendary South African artist Sam Nhlengethwa's colourful figurative and collage works, and share an intimate look into his love for his family and jazz from his personal vinyl collection. Break up your date with Nhlengethwa's The Still from Life exhibition with a coffee and toastie at the café when you visit the Rupert Museum.

ENJOY SOME EDU-TAINMENT AT TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM

Gorgeous kelp forests and toothy-grinned sharks are just a couple of the fascinating exhibits you and your kids can expect to see when you discover the secrets of the underwater world at Two Oceans Aquarium.
