FOOD AND WINE PAIRING
There are two different ranges of wine: Haskell wine, their flagship range, and Dombeya wine, which is the lifestyle range. Since its opening in 2002, the wine farm’s emphasis has been on unique, terroir-driven wines. About 8000 cases of wine (which translates to about 96 000 bottles) are produced every year.
The Dombeya range was named after the original estate and pays homage to the Dombeya tree, which is scattered across the vineyards and represents a cycle of regeneration and renewal. The Dombeya range is also the wine Prince Albert of Monaco served at his 2011 wedding to former South African swimmer, Charlene Wittstock. The Longtable Restaurant also sell their wines (Dombeya and Haskell) at cellar door price.
THE SPECIAL
Enjoy Haskell Vineyard’s Gourmet Food and Wine Pairing, which includes three savoury tasters and one dessert from the winter menu. This is served with two Dombeya Wines and two Haskell Wines of Haskell Syrah and one glass of Dombeya Syrah for just R390 for two people.
