Are you loco for cocoa? Feel bitter when you’re in need of a sugar rush? Wondering where a festival for chocolate-lovers like yourself has ‘bean’ all your life?
The Chocolate Festival (gin, cheese, bread, bubbly and beer-lovers are catered for too) is returning to Stellenbosch from 18 to 19 August in 2018 after a year’s break. And, the Willy Wonka-themed event has got a lot more than the average chocolate bar on offer at Anura Wine Estate.
You’ll be able to overindulge on some of the Cape’s best artisanal chocolate, with the likes of Afrikoa Chocolate, Beyers Chocolates, Honest Artisan Chocolate, Huguenot Fine Chocolates, Alexander Avery Fine Chocolates, CocoaFair, Valrohna and Winston & Julia and even more chocolatiers showing off their creamy delights.
The weekend promises a choc-a-bloc programme of exciting stuff to do, eat and sip. Chocolate fountains, ice-cream vendors, chocolate-themed movie screenings and live bands are just a few of the pleasurable things happening at the fest. Gin, bubbly, wine tents and craft breweries will also be there, as well as charcuterie, bread and cheese stalls (for balance).
Organiser Darielle Robertson says “it promises to be a fun and food-filled day for the whole family.”
Tickets cost only R150 per person –- with children under 18 admitted free when accompanied by a parent or adult – and can be bought through Webtickets.
