Baxter Theatre’s new restaurants and bars

Eat out, meet for drinks and catch a show

The new restaurant at the Baxter Theatre Centre is a step up from its faded retro predecessor. The stylish, Act Restaurant is now open for pre-show dining and offers a gourmet â la carte menu and an extensive wine list to suit all tastes. 

Also expect a long bar that serves savoury snacks like wasabi nuts, roasted corn, caramelised cashew nuts and biltong. You’ll find Play Bar upstairs, which doubles up as a grab-and-go, all-day restaurant with light meals and fresh take-away options. During the evenings the bar is transformed into a tapas and wine bar.

Opening Times: Play is open between 10am and 5pm, from Monday - Friday and between 5pm and 11pm, from Tuesday – Sunday. Act Restaurant is open for pre-dinner dining.
