Catch live music, enjoy a horse ride on the beach or dive into a gin tasting

Catch indie-rock singer Alanna Joy live at Darling Brewery, mountain bike your way through De Hoop Nature Reserve or check out a mini 7de Laan set on your next weekend adventure. Plus, The Station on Bree’s Mini Gin Tasting Fest is back and Kleine Zalze is sending in their top wine connoisseur to Harringtons Cocktail Lounge.  

SPEND THE DAY TRYING TASTY TREATS AT A FOOD TRUCK MARKET

Try tasty South African classics such as biltong, boerewors rolls, curries and gourmet burgers, or a range of mexican food at the Fort Food Truck Market. Fort Wynyard is a military base and artillery garrison dating back to the 1700s. You can join a guided tour of the fascinating maze of tunnels and bunkers while you work up an appetite. There is also a stage area which hosts eclectic live music at the Fort Food Truck Market.

DRINK WINE AND LISTEN TO BLUES AT AND END-OF-YEAR BASH

Appreciate the soulful sounds of Kitchen Jammin’ Blues Band while you sip on aromatic wines and snack on home-style farm kitchen food at Muratie Wine Estate’s end-of-year bash. Make a weekend of it by booking a charming guest cottage on the estate and exploring their historic site when you visit Muratie Wine Estate for their end-of-year bash.

MOUNTAIN BIKE THROUGH PROTECTED AREAS

The 2020 De Hoop Vlei MTB Experience is back with some exciting changes. This year, riders will enjoy a laid-back cycle through jeep tracks and single tracks as well as limestone and protected vegetation areas. Each ride will lead you to panoramic views of the reserve and to a whale-spotting location. You’ll also be able to rest up with all-inclusive dinners, lunches and breakfasts as well as a complimentary massage and a goodie bag when you finish the De Hoop Vlei MTB Experience.

JUAN CASEY IS PLAYING LIVE AT NEETHLINGSHOF

South African pop singer Juan Casey is playing some of his crowd-favourites to help you relax and recharge this Wednesday. If you can't make it to the performance in person, shows are still being streamed online via their Facebook page. Plus, learn how to make Neethlinghof's famous pizzas at home or try their flammkuchen, margarita, prosciutto and crispy garlic pita during Neethlingshof's Wine Down Wednesday sessions.

LIVE MUSIC FRIDAYS AT DARLING BREWERY

Alanna Joy, is playing indie, folk and rock at Darling Brewery in Woodstock. Kick your weekend off with Joy’s dreamy voice and a plate of cheesy nachos or one of Darling Brewery's many beefy – or veggie – burgers while you sip on a craft beer or two at Darling Brewery's Live Music Fridays.

LIVE MUSIC, GIN AND TAPAS AT THE STATION ON BREE

Expect something new every night at The Station on Bree. On Saturdays, taste some local and international gins as well as a few award-winning brands at their Mini Gin Fest. Or order the whole menu with their delicious tapas specials on Tuesdays. And to welcome the weekend, enjoy live music every Thursday at The Station on Bree.

HIP HOP SUNDAYS AT TIGER’S MILK ON KLOOF

Cape Town’s fierce female duo Fizz & Shai-A are hitting up Tiger’s Milk Kloof Street’s decks every Sunday with some of their crowd-favourite beats. Plus, dive into a delicious avo, feta and bacon pizza with a half-priced cocktail, beer or glass of wine during the Pick Your Poison happy hour between 4pm and 6pm at Tiger’s Milk Hip Hop Sundays.

THE HORSES AT IMHOFF FARM ARE EAGER FOR A CANTER

Head out for a horse ride along Noordhoek beach at the award-winning Imhoff Farm Equestrian Center. If you prefer the forests, they also offer pony bush rides along with their popular guided beach rides every weekend. Plus, the kids can play a game of paintball or laser tag while parents take a stroll around the Werf Pop-Up Market at Imhoff Farm

HEAD DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH THIS 7DE LAAN SET

Gansbaai couple Coenie and Christa Van Dyk have dedicated the last 10 years to building a miniature town in their backyard of the popular local television show 7de Laan. Entrance is free, and nostalgia is guaranteed for this miniature 7de Laan set.

CATCH LIVE MUSIC AT CAFÉ ROUX

The Jimm Harisson Project is making their way to Noordhoek to play live at Café Roux this Thursday. Expect all their popular jams and some brand new singles. Come back for another night of live music, market-style food and good vibes on Saturday as the multi-instrumentalist Reinhardt Buhr plays live at Café Roux.

NOW IS THE TIME TO PICK THOSE STRAWBERRIES

At Redberry Farm in George, the strawberry fields are open for families to stock their baskets full with bright red, ripe strawberries. Bring the kids to run around the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere while you kick up your feet and enjoy a strawberry-inspired lunch. The Red Shed restaurant serves up a delicious Strawberry Rosé Gin Fizz. There are also mini train trips and pony rides at Redberry Farm.

KLEINE ZALZE WINES IS HEADING TO HARRINGTONS

Sip and swirl on new wines from a full-bodied red to a fruity bubbly every month. This month, Kleine Zalze Wines is sending in their best connoisseur with four of their premium wines. Plus, choose between four delicious mains made to complement each wine you taste at Harringtons Cocktail Lounge

THE WATERSHED IS BACK IN BUSINESS

The V&A Waterfront’s Watershed has reopened its doors, which means you can once again shop 100% local from over 150 stalls at South Africa’s biggest market for art, design and craft. You’ll find ceramists, sculptors, painters, jewellers, clothing and shoe designers as well as textile and furniture makers. You will also find creators of beauty brands in the recently added beauty section within the V&A Waterfront’s Watershed.
