Winter isn’t coming Capetonians, winter is here!

Hot Chocolate with a side of snow this weekend in the Western Cape

Last Update 12 July 2017

Winter has been circling around Cape Town for months – but it seems the heart of it is finally here! The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says there is an exceptionally high chance of snow over the Western and Eastern Cape Mountains, starting Friday, 14 July 2017.

If you want to build a snowman, Saturday will probably be the optimal time to go, the snow will be scattered over the eastern mountains of the Western Cape and creeping into the western parts come Sunday, 16 July 2017. Here are the temperatures for the weekend - Friday, 14 July 2017 will have a high of 18°C, Saturday, 15 July 2017 with a high of 14°C , and Sunday, 16 July 2017 showing 80% chance of rain and a high of 12°C.
