Orphanage Cocktail Emporium houses the travelling whisky machine
Last Update 13 March 2017
The travelling whiskey shot machine - The Black Bottle Steampunk Shot Machine is now at the Orphanage Cocktail Emporium until 31 March 2017. Housed in the local Orphanage Cocktail Emporium, a specialist club that serves artisan elixirs and cocktails.
The Heath Robinson-like contraption is simple - all you need to do is buy any Black Bottle cocktail or buy a special token from the bar staff. Once you've done this insert the coin into the slot, turn the handle and watch your glass travel up the machine. A smooth tot of Black Bottle blended whiskey will drop into the glass. The Machine will signal when it is ready and you can remove the glass.
“In a world where everything is so glib, fast and instant, the dispenser creates a delicious contrast and theatrical experience with its seemingly intricate dispensing process that’s in fact very simple,” says Lucindi Branfield, the SA marketing manager for the brand. "It mirrors the Black Bottle identity that’s layered, complex and a little complicated.”
