The city launches its largest residential development
Last Updated 28 February 2017
The Mother City skyline is continuously rising, with buildings becoming taller with every project. The latest addition to the horizon is, ‘16 on Bree’, a 35 storey residential and retail development. The site will be located on Bree, Riebeeck and Mechau Streets - making it the city’s tallest residential skyscraper.
Construction is set to commence in April 2017, with the expected completion date to be in December 2019. At the hull of marketing the development is Pam Golding properties, who have projected the project as a luxury lifestyle space whereas the development will be captained by FWJK Development.

The upmarket development will offer a variety of units such as studio apartments from R1.5 million, one bedroom units from R1.9 million and up to three bedroom units from R7 million. There are also penthouse apartments with four bedrooms that start at R13.9 million.
While there are unique and lavish features for residents of this upscale development, the street level design will reflect a similar urban landscape as seen on the rest of Bree street. The building will also be connected to the city’s fibre optic cables, developers have said.
