Char’d Grill & Wine Bar is arguably Hermanus’s, if not the Western Cape’s, most unique restaurant experience. Best known for its steak, steampunk aesthetic and out-of-the-box approach to dining, it is also loved by locals for its inventive burgers and affordable specials.

Choose any burger from the menu and a Newlands beer for R125. The special runs from 12pm to 3pm daily.

Owner Petri Hendriksz says, “In addition to our steak experience, we also have awesome burgers. Our mince is made onsite, following the modern trend to utilise as much of the carcass as possible and having our on-site butchery.”
There are nine burgers on the Char’d Grill menu. Arguably its most decadent and delicious creation is the Skud Jou Brisket Burger, which consists of a burger patty topped with pulled smoked brisket, blue cheese, wonton and rocket.
