Launch a torpedo, escape prison, solve a murder – all in your lunch hour
Last updated: 10 August 2022
It only takes one hour to play a HintHunt live escape room game. The question is, do you have what it takes to win? Challenge your colleagues during your lunch break or take your friends at the end of the day and find out. It's a great way to get over Hump Day and energise you all for the rest of the week.

ESCAPE A PRISON-BREAK STYLE GAME ROOM
In the thrill-a-minute Escape Plan, you’re huddled into two cells, which at first glance look bare and unassuming. You and your cellmates are the new prisoners, and you must decipher the codes left by Michael and Lincoln, the previous escapees.
There’s nothing but a bed, a locked cupboard and something about an Italian on the wall...or so you might think. Can your crew solve the riddle and escape within 60 minutes? You’ll have to rummage through dirty socks, play with codes and locks as you race against the clock.

Or play any of the other escape rooms games at HintHunt, the company that brought the escape-game craze to South Africa. Each uniquely themed game has its own level of difficulty. In all, teams of between two to six people are locked in and challenged to solve clues and puzzles before time runs out.

GET STUCK IN A SUBMARINE, A CURSED ROOM + MORE
If your crew is in the mood for a high-stakes challenge – or you’ve played and won most of the rooms, as our team has – opt for “Torpedo”.
One game room is styled as a submarine. It’s a dark grey room with pipes and valves everywhere and really feels like you’re underwater. Soon after you enter, you’ll suddenly hear a foreboding “click.” You’re locked in. Music starts playing. The countdown begins: 59, 58, 57…
In this new reality, you’ll feel like Tom Hanks in Greyhound. It’s all about trial-and-error, as you work with switches, red levers, flags, morse code, a periscope and “the big red button”.

For other curious experiences, immerse yourself in the mysteries of “Shipwrecked”, “Cursed Treasure” or “Old Hotel”. Overcome voodoo magic in order to break the curse, recover the royal family’s sacred pearls from Captain Kalman’s lost ship or solve the disappearance of the mysterious Mr O.

PLAY AMAZING RACE AROUND THE V&A OR OUTDOORS
There are indoor, outdoor, online and mobile team adventures at HintHunt, too. In Amazing Race, which can accommodate from 4 to 40 players, your group will have to outwit and outpace another team using clues in iconic landmarks, street art or history in a race to the finish line around the V&A Waterfront.
Amazing Race works well for big-team companies, while online and mobile games are well suited to friends and companies that live and work remotely or across various cities. Read more about the games.
