Free Entry to Seafood, Horse Racing And Summer Market At The Cape Town Prawn Festival
Kenilworth Race Course will be buzzing with seafood, horse racing and a summer market for the Cape Town Prawn Festival
The Cape Town Prawn Festival is back on 23 February 2019, and there’s more than just prawns to get excited about. The event’s got something on offer for the seafood-, horse- and market-lover in everyone.
You may think this trio is a little strange, but they’ve come together to make the event a roaring success. Over a weekend that brings the warmest weather and clearest skies of the year, hundreds of guests will fill the Kenilworth Racecourse, and for good reason. It’s free to enter, there’s incredible food to try (especially prawns) and it carries an unmatched festive feeling you’ll struggle to find anywhere else.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
While the food vendors from the seafood village will keep you fed with drool-worthy prawn and seafood dishes there’ll also be other food options. The summer market will serve other kinds of food as well as a diverse range of products. Kids will be entertained all day in the designated kids area.
AND THEY’RE OFF!
The annual Vasco Prix du Cap horse race will take place at the same time. The horse race isn’t part of the Prawn Festival but is run in conjunction with it. Over the years, it has become a popular part of the day’s events, adding even more excitement.
