“I used to have a fear of reptiles,” says co-organiser, Keith Lourens. That’s why he started learning everything he could about them and now he sings their praises all the time. Co-organiser Marc Heath confirms that the expo is held to educate people and create a platform where the public can access experts to provide accurate and meaningful information about these fascinating creatures.
The Cape Town Reptile Expo takes place at the Theo Marais Sports Complex in Milnerton on Saturday, 14 March.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Various animals will be showcased and the hosts will educate the public on the different reptiles. You can expect to see various snakes, geckos, lizards and whatever else the handlers will bring. If you keep pet reptiles, you can stock up on everything they need such as heating pads, snake hooks, enclosures, hides, etc. There will be a mobile food truck, coffee and cooldrinks available for purchase at the event.
ATTENDING THE CAPE TOWN REPTILE EXPO
Tickets will be on sale at the door for R50 per adult and R30 per child (under 16). For more information, contact the organisers directly on Keith@capetownreptileexpo.co.za or Marc@capetownreptileexpo.co.za. The event is suitable for ages three and up. There is free parking available at the venue.
