Last updated: Tuesday, 10 June 2025
With a long weekend for Youth Day this year, we’ve found free and affordable ways to celebrate. There’s an orchestra show, women’s walk, market in the park, free guided tours, wine tasting festival, fun run and drag concert. Here’s everything you need to know about how Cape Town is spending Youth Weekend.
Across from Canal Walk is an exhibition with 100 life-sized bronze statues, the largest in the world. You can see both large and little known names at Long March to Freedom, from Nelson Mandela to Autshumato. Plus their latest statue of Johnny Clegg. There’ll be free guided tours throughout the weekend. Tours run from 10am to 3pm and start on the hour every hour.
Date: Saturday, 14 June to Monday, 16 June
