Open For Swimming: 29 Public Pools In And Around Cape Town

This summer will be hot, but here is where you'll find safe water to splash in

Last Updated: 26 November 2019

Cape Town boasts some impressive public pools with world-class facilities, from swimming pools that meet Olympic standards for professional swimmers, to others with diving boards and splash pools for kids. Some even have playgrounds for tots that can't swim yet (remember to check out the pool’s safety rules).

According to the City’s Recreation and Parks Department, it hopes to have 30 pools open over the season, 26 outdoor and four indoor. However, currently 10 pools are being spruced up and there may be delays on these. The department also says continued vandalism of some may also lead to shut doors, sadly.
