Join Steenberg High School as they host the inaugural CFlat Youth Jazz Festival on Sunday, 11 March 2018 from 3pm to 7pm. Jive, jig and boogie the weekend away as various Cape Town schools and renowned jazz performers fill your Sunday afternoon with the grooviest jazz tunes.
Legendary jazz singer Sophia Foster and award-winning songwriter, singer and vocal coach RJ Benjamin will be performing in the show, taking the afternoon from a school concert to an event fit for every jazz and music lover.

The event is being held in proud association with The Fostering Foundation, a foundation set up by Sophia to teach young people the skills she has learned during her years in the entertainment industry. RJ Benjamin will also mentor the Steenberg School jazz band in the preceding week.
Steenberg High School is respected for its academic and sporting skills. The school set up a music education project in 2013, created by NGO Musiquelaine SA. The CFlat Youth Jazz Festival will be showcasing the musical excellence the school is equally respected for today.
Held in the main courtyard of the school premises, the outdoor 1000-seater Alstom Music Pavilion has been set up for the festival. Steenberg High School will see an array of Cape Town schools participate in this exciting musical event.
The schools you can expect to see performing are:

Tickets cost R50 and are available for purchase online.
