A girl of many talents, this TV presenter, radio personality, voice-over artist and model is host of the popular early morning ‘Feel Good Breakfast Show’ – Expresso – on SABC3 as well as of her own radio show on the much-loved Cape Town station KFM
1. How would you describe what you do for a living?
I like to think that I’m an ordinary girl doing an extraordinary job. Being part of the Expresso Morning Show team on SABC3, I get to wake South Africans up every weekday morning with a dose of their ‘Feel Good Breakfast Show’, while hopefully putting a smile on their faces. I’m also fortunate enough to be heard across the Western Cape on the weekends as I present on the radio station KFM.
2. What is your most vivid childhood memory?
For a large part of my childhood my mom was a stay-at-home mom and on Sundays – her “off” days – my dad would take all the kids out and about for a Sunday afternoon activity. From driving around the Peninsula or going super tubing in Somerset West, to picking strawberries in Stellenbosch and even riding the mini Blue Train on the promenade (which I’m surprised still runs after all this time!).
3. If you could invite any three people, dead or alive, for dinner, who would they be and why?
I would like to invite Giuliana Rancic, the Beckhams (they count as a unit) and Richard Branson. All these guests have created mega powerhouses in various industries for themselves. They did it through hard work and seeing the gap and potential in the market. I would love to pick their brains!
4. If you ever found yourself auditioning for a music reality TV show, what song would you sing and why?
I know the song I won’t be singing! And that’s ‘Killing Me Softly’ by The Fugees! That poor song has been butchered so many times and it just never ends well!
5. How would you complete this sentence? The South African cabinet should include a Minister of _________________.
Bargains!
Imagine we were able to find out all the latest sales and ways to cut costs so that there’s more money for the things that really matter!
6. What would you say is the biggest misconception about you?
Although I’m on TV and radio, I’m still extremely shy if you meet me in person!
7. What is your (honest) opinion of Cape Town?
Cape Town is a city of never-ending adventures! There are endless activities for all ages and genders. No hike or market is ever the same and the people you meet in and around the city are all so diverse!
8. What's the greatest fear you've had to overcome to get where you are today?
I have a fear that my vocabulary is not big enough. But I find people connect better with you (on TV and radio) if you are real and true to yourself. You don’t always need big fancy “vernacular”. See what I did there?
9. What's the one thing you'd like to achieve before you die?
I hope to influence policy one day, where the wellbeing and safety of children is concerned. Not just at a local level but internationally too.
10. Which well-known South African personality would you, without a doubt, be able to beat in a street fight and why?
I’m not a fighter! Would rather challenge them to a food cooking contest like MasterChef or Chopped!
