Not every birthday needs to end with a dinner reservation and round of drinks. We’ve rounded up some of the most memorable ways to celebrate, like a virtual racing battle, dinner in the dark experience, making your own rug and trying your hand at a pastry workshop. You could also try Turkish dishes, play in an escape room, and join a free walking tour.
If you feel like a night out in town, fable is the bar to be at. There are cocktails that rain, release fog, and even come with handcuffs. You can book a table, the VIP room (up to 15 people), or even the whole venue. There’s no venue hire fee; you’ll just have to pay a minimum spend (depending on the size of the party). This is Bree Street’s trendiest cocktail bar.
Good to know: There’s a daily happy hour with food and drinks specials
How to book: Up to 6 guests, book online. For more than 6, email info@fablecocktailbar.capetown
Cost: Classics from R80; Signature cocktails from R170
