Groove through the sounds of afro-house and minimal techno in the spring afternoon sun. And when the sun goes down, German techno heavyweight, Julian Wassermann, will be debuting in South Africa delivering massive beats and funky synths at this epic open-air music festival hosted at the oldest monument in the country.
It’s the season-opener of With You on Saturday 7 September 2019 at The Castle of Good Hope.
THINK YOU KNOW TECHNO?
There’s more to the genre than beats and cymbals. With You will take you on a journey through deep, melodic African house right through to the big, heavy sounds that only a German DJ like Julian Wassermann could create.
Wassermann's really looking forward to performing in our city. "I am very excited for my debut in Cape Town. After a great year with many highlights, it is a very special experience to play my first show in South Africa at this unique venue" he said in a statement to us.
NATIVE CAPE TOWN
Cape Town’s very own Bruno Morphet is right behind Wassermann on the impressive lineup. Known for his deep house cuts and early start in the minimalist wave of techno, he’s played (and very much entertained) popular festivals like Wolfkop Weekender, Future Frequency Festival, Synergy Live and many more.
SO, WHO’S ON THE LINEUP?
The evening begins with smooth grooves before you get into the bigger evening beats. Two of Cape Town’s most respected DJ’s; Kanan K7 & El Gordo have been working together as DJ duo EllEVEN. Blending elements of techno with disco and electro, they’re playing tunes ideal for a springtime wiggle in the September sun.
Things get a little more diverse further down the lineup, with ambient and inventive sounds from Paz Shina and house and techno DJ Blanka Mazimela, both performing live. Audiojerk keeps it steady with all things techno – he shows face pretty often at electronic club Reset and festivals like Toybox and Spiltmilk. Karoo comes in with rhythmic, afro-appreciation beats, while Sacred Sun will be providing late-night grooving music with deep techno, rhythmic and tribal sounds.
LINEUP: WITH YOU: LOVE IN THE CITY
