Urban Death Horror Play South Africa

This spine-chilling Los Angeles-based horror show heads to Mzansi for its debut performance

Los Angeles-based Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group’s critically acclaimed live horror production Urban Death screams its way into South Africa for the first time ever at the Intimate Theatre in Cape Town from Thursday, 5 to Sunday, 15 December 2013.

Created by American theatre makers Zombie Joe and Jana Wimer, Urban Death is essentially a sketch show, but instead of playing for laughs, the actors aim to elicit horrified gasps and nervous giggles from the audience. It is physical theatre of the imagination at its very best. The Mother City leg of this show features an all-South African cast, is directed by Wimer herself and is a collaboration between The Mechanicals (a local troupe) and Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group in Los Angeles.

Tickets are available via Webtickets.co.za or by calling +27 (0) 71 865 0650 or +27 (0) 84 245 2596 and cost R120p/p for adults or R70p/p for students or senior citizens. Performances run every night at 8pm, except Sunday, 8 and Monday 9 December when there is no show. By public demand, late night weekend shows may be added.
