The beautiful St George's Cathedral in Cape Town was built in 1978, and for the first time since then, a craft-and-food market will be held on the premises. The Cathedral Market promises good food, local art, and excellent craftsmanship.
THERE'S NO BETTER WAY TO SPEND SATURDAY
The Cathedral Market showcases local talent. From traditional cuisine and local street food to handmade African art, this market caters to the whole family. Entrance is free, and there's safe parking in the area. Why not make a day of it? Bring your whole neighbourhood: the venue has more than enough space for everyone.
LOCAL IS THE WAY TO GO
The Cathedral Market supports local micro-businesses and independent artisans, prioritising women and unemployed artists. It provides these small businesses with a platform to promote their amazing products. The products on sale are authentic because, according to the organisers, they're made by people who live and breathe the culture.
THE DETAILS
If you feel like this is the place for your art/food, contact the organisers at thecathedralmarket@gmail.com. Craft stalls are R160, and food stalls are R200. If you're just there to peruse what's on offer, hightail it to St George's Cathedral's parking lot on Wale Street between 10 am and 3 pm.
