Gourmet boerie rolls, honeycomb milk tart, and breathtaking Atlantic Ocean views
Spend some time sipping on delicious wines, admiring ocean views and indulging in your favourite South African dishes with a contemporary twist. Tindlovu, which has eight branches throughout the country, has just opened its newest restaurant in Camps Bay.
CLASSIC FAVOURITES WITH A MODERN TWIST
The eight-hour slow-braised oxtail is a crowd favourite. It is served with dombolo (steamed dumplings) and butter beans, in a rich, hearty tomato and red wine gravy. Also worth trying is the loaded boerie roll – farm style boerewors on a buttery milk bun, with smoky chipotle chakalaka, jalapeño pickles, crispy onions and fresh coriander. The creamy butter curry is a flavour-bomb with aromatic spices in a yoghurt sauce, with your choice of tender chicken fillet or Mozambican prawns. The herbivore burger, made from 100% plant-based ingredients, comes with a 200g veggie patty, with vegan condiments and trimmings, served on a soft whole wheat bun.
A TASTE OF SOUTH AFRICA THAT EVERYONE CAN ENJOY
“The menu is the first of its kind for the group, with a strong focus on contemporary South African cuisine”, says Tindlovu’s general manager, Chris Papayannes. “The philosophy during development was to freshen up familiar favourites, and also to showcase local flavours through current trends. The general consensus with South African food has always been that one can expect platters of meat and heavy stews – we wanted to reinvent this idea and show that local cuisine can be approachable and appealing to all palates.”
BOOK YOUR TABLE NOW
Tindlovu restaurant is open seven days a week from 12pm-9pm for lunch and dinner. They also offer the venue for all kinds of special events and are flexible with customised themes and concepts. For bookings, give them a call on 021 200 5944 or visit the Tindlovu Camps Bay facebook page.
